Dr. Ambedkar NRI Association was formed in Maryland, USA on October 21, 2006. The main objective of the members, who participated in the founding meeting, was to promote social justice and the development of dalits (Untouchables) in India.
The objectives of Dr. Ambedkar NRI Association are to provide educational assistance and conduct rehabilitation programs for the poorly educated, illiterate, physically handicapped, and orphaned in India. The following objectives are our primary focus, which may be amended by the Board of Director’s discretion:
Promotion of Social Justice:
Launch an awareness campaign for the prevention of atrocities, the promotion of social justice, and provide legal guidance for the protection against oppressive acts, land-grabbing, and all forms of violence.
Establish educational institutions and provide training to the teachers for rural schools and provide training to the poor individuals for technically skilled trades with a primary focus on computer and internet training.
Introduce basic health care and early-stage medical care, initiate and promote health clinics for villages, and provide guidance to visiting nurses and health care workers.
Promotion of the Principles of Dr. Ambedkar:
Create awareness in India and abroad of the LIfe and mission of Dr. Ambedkar. Establish Dr. Ambedkar study and research centers around the world and educate people in his writings and speeches.
Empowerment for Women and Children:
Create special care programs for women and children and provide educational activities for women and children and provide employment training for women.
Dalit Art and Culture:
Preserve and promote Dalit culture.
Charity Status in USA:
DANRIA organization is registered in Maryland and is 501(C)(3) tax exempted under IRS, USA. All donations are tax-deductible.DANRIA is collaborating with IIDEA and other dalit organizations in India.
The Innovative Institute of Development and Education for All (IIDEA) was registered in Delhi in 2011.IIDEA is awaiting approval for charitable organization status under the Income Tax Act and will be eligible for FCRA clearance.
